PITCHf/x data fuels the At Bat Apple application which offers a mobile solution for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad users who are also avid baseball fans. This application takes the same data used in MLB Gameday, but they have developed a great “Nasty Factor” feature to further evaluate the velocity, sequence, location, and movement of the ball. With At Bat, fans get a great visual with what is labeled hot/cold zones.
PITCHf/x data is illustrated within the strikezone into color-coded hot, warm, neutral, cool, and cold regions so users can see where the current batter and pitcher have their best performance. This application introduces Sportvision’s data to a wider market and offers an interesting new way to see what’s happening during the game.
